OUR MEDICAL TEAM
WomanKind is staffed by advanced registered nurse practitioners, with a Board Certified
Physician as Medical Director. This model has repeatedly been shown to provide high
quality, cost-effective healthcare.

Kris Bly, D.O., Medical Director
Kris Bly is a board-certified physician who works part time at
Fisherman's Hospital in Marathon and owns a medical house call service
called ?AM-PM Housecalls Southern Keys." She graduated from Kirksville
College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri and enjoys
reading, swimming, snorkeling, and cross-stitching. Kris and her husband
Donald (retired Canadian Army Infantry) live with their young daughter
Amelia in Key West.

Janis Wallace, RN
Jan has exchanged her snow boots for sandals after her recent move from Wisconsin. She holds her Nursing Degree from North Dakota State University and has a B.S. in Business Management from Concordia College in Wisconsin. She has worked in home health and health informatics. Jan has quickly adapted to island living and rides her bike to work each day.

Maria Berrios, Hispanic Outreach Coordinator
Maria is a graduate of Key West High School. She holds certificates in HIV counseling and phlebotomy. Maria moved to the Keys in 2000 and is currently enrolled in FKCC studying to become a certified addictions counselor.

Beverly D. Allen, LMHC, NCC
Beverly has extensive experience in individual and relationship counseling
and group therapy covering numerous mental health and wellness issues. She is also a smoking
cessation counselor for the Florida Keys Area Health Education Center. Prior to joining the
WomanKind team, Beverly provided counseling to college students, adults and adolescents in
Indianapolis, Indiana.
While a resident of Key West, she provided counseling and training
services to a number of local not-for-profit and social services agencies as well as to her private
clients. Prior to that, she worked at Naval Air Station, Key West, where she designed and
implemented sexual assault victim intervention training programs for the military and
community leaders.
Beverly is also comfortable working with numerous cultures stemming
from her work in Bermuda.

Maureen Kempa, LMHC, NC
Maureen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Board
Certified Counselor. She is from Chicago, Illinois, and has provided counseling services to
schools and community agencies for more than a decade as a private practitioner, supervisor
and consultant.
Maureen’s areas of interest are personal self-growth, self esteem and family
therapy.

Kristie Sniffen, MSW, LCSW
Kristie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides individual, family and
group therapy at WomanKind. She received her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the
University of South Florida in 2002.
With specialization in sexual assault and trauma, she has
experience working with children, adolescents and adults in multiple treatment settings.
