WHAT WE BELIEVE:
At WomanKind, we believe that the health of individual women in our community
affects the strength of the community as a whole, for women are the backbone of any
community.
From the first phone call, to the time you walk through the door, through your exam
and follow up, all of our staff is committed to giving you the very best care. We
work hard to find the most friendly, competent staff available. The result is quality,
courteous care.
WHO WE ARE:
WomanKind is staffed by mental health counselors and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, with a Board
Certified Gynecologist as Medical Director. This model has repeatedly been shown to
provide high quality, cost-effective health care. You will discover that our nurses are
caring and sensitive, and will spend quality time with you discussing your health and
your health care concerns.
WHAT WE DO:
WomanKind is the largest not-for-profit provider of women’s health care and health
education in the Lower Florida Keys.

Basic primary care for things like colds, flu and urinary tract infections.
Prescriptions, lab testing, blood work, and diagnostic tests.
Mental health counseling services for individuals, families and couples.

HOW WE ARE DOING:
We asked our patients what they think of WomanKind. Many said WomanKind was
“excellent” or “the best” in numerous areas, including: • 92% for the medical treatment they received
• 81% for the time they spent with medical staff
• 92% for the way they were treated by front desk staff
• 100% for overall satisfaction
PROGRAMS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
In 2008, WomanKind had 4,215 visits by 1,743 individual women.
22% of our patients are teens. WomanKind’s Teen Clinic, which provides health care, education
and counseling to adolescent girls in our community, has reduced the pregnancy rate among its
patients to lower than either the state or the nation.
Part of the money received from our full-fee patients, as well as government and foundation
grants and individual contributions, allows WomanKind to offer reduced fees to women with
limited incomes.
WomanKind’s secondary care voucher program, funded through government grants and
individual contributions, allows us to refer financially disadvantaged women to specialists when
their needs go beyond our ability to help.
Through the generosity of the Key West Chapter of Zonta, WomanKind is able to offer vouchers for free mammograms to uninsured women.
WomanKind offers free workshops on issues such as weight management, stress reduction,
cancer and heart disease prevention, and financial health that are open to all members of the
community.
